Outside Services/Ranger/Starter Reports to:
Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf POSITION OVERVIEW Under the direction of the Head Golf Professional and the Director of Golf, incumbent will assist members and guests with outstanding customer service with golf facilities and equipment to ensure an exceptional Golfing Experience.
Ensures that all support and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the standards, goals, and objectives of the Lakes Country Club.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Ranger Primary Opening Procedures Check with golf shop staff/starter before starting your day for any special course conditions, tournaments or groups on the golf course that require special attention.
Make a full rotation on each course (All 27 Holes) in reverse order.
Each full rotation may take from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the business for the day.
Be visible and greet every group as you pass.
On Course Primary Duties Pace of Play - Monitor pace of play (4 hours) making sure each group is keeping up with the group in front of them with no sizable gaps between groups.
Stocking Coolers/Scorecard boxes - On each pass check the coolers and scorecard boxes, refill them as needed.
Radio Communication - Maintain radio communication with the golf shop staff as to any unexpected course conditions, emergency situations, injury of golfers or pace of play issues/warnings that might occur.
Starter Primary Duties Check-In all golfers - All golfers must check-in with the starter.
The starter will maintain both a paper and computer tee sheet to check-in guests and make changes to reservations for the day.
Greet each golfer by name.
Provide each group with scorecards as needed and any other supplies necessary for the round.
Re-Gripping Clubs- Maintain inventory of grips.
Re-grip clubs for members upon request.
Point of Sale - Must be able to ring up merchandise and guest round fees in Jonas POS system.
Tee Time Reservation System - The starter is responsible for booking tee time reservations for members who call and/or walk up.
Starter must abide by all Lakes Country Club Booking rules and restrictions.
Radio Communication - Maintain radio communication with the golf shop staff.
Other Duties - The starter must have a good understanding of the 27-hole rotations and work to keep order on the golf course.
The starter also must be able to help organize shotgun pairings for non-tournament play.
