The Pilates Reformer Instructor is responsible for providing quality fitness programs designed to meet the needs of members, residents or guests.
Responsibilitieso Ensuring that a safe and healthy environment exists for exercisingo Arriving to teach class in advance of the scheduled time to greet participants, answer questions and address concernso Dressing appropriately for teaching exercise classeso Arriving well-prepared, music cued and routine thought outo Knowing the names of participants who attend your classeso Sharing educational information with your class participantso Teaching classes with energy and enthusiasmo Motivating class participants to the best of your abilityo Noting new participants and sharing basic exercise information with themo Keeping up-to-date on safety and fitness trendso Reporting any equipment/facility problems to the management teamo Begins and ends all classes on time.
o Ensures that class areas are clean and set according to procedures.
o Attends all scheduled meetingso Attends schedules professional trainings.
o Other duties as assignedQualifications Must be certified through ACE, ACSM, or other approved nationally accredited organization o Must have educational background in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education or related fieldo Valid CPR Certificationo Valid Standard First Aid Certificationo Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to work positively with different populations, in groups and individuallyo Must be well-organized and prepared to teach classeso Must be in excellent physical condition to teach group exerciseo Must be able to think independently and develop routines for teaching specific exercise classeso Must be able to keep confidences and practice discernmento Ability to lift 25 lbso Ability to stand for long periods of timeo Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injuryo This position required the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talko The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armso Normal work hours:
